Art Deco salon cabinet

French Art Deco salon cabinet (France around 1930)

Are you looking for an unusual piece of furniture for your home? This rare and representative salon cabinet is a perfect example of the French Art Deco era of the early 1930s. Because the front is curved in a semicircle, the cabinet has a strong architectural effect. That’s why it immediately becomes an absolute eye-catcher in every room. The body is veneered with fine rosewood. In addition, a high-gloss polish ensures a very luxurious appearance. Black lacquer elements create effective contrasts, creating a harmonious overall design.

The visual center of the cabinet is an artistic relief made of nickel-plated metal. It shows a stylized female figure holding a dove. This motif traditionally represents peace and harmony. Because this sculptural representation is so finely crafted, the piece of furniture has a very high artistic value. The figure therefore also underlines the cultural claim of the object.

The exceptionally curved doors are easy to open. Behind it there is a spacious interior with six shelves. These shelves can be adjusted in multiple heights, with their shape exactly following the elegant curve of the cabinet. High-quality metal fittings and streamlined handles add further visual accents. In addition, they illustrate the careful workmanship, although the overall design remains pleasantly puristic.

This salon cabinet is a rare collector’s item with a great decorative effect. It is now considered one of the best examples of French luxury furniture from this period. The combination of the elegant round shape, black lacquer surfaces, the figurative relief and the unique handles is extremely rare. This makes the effect in the room absolutely incomparable. In short: a masterpiece that meets the highest standards of aesthetics and craftsmanship.

Another magnificent example is this Art Deco bar cabinet.
