Petitot Lamps

are an Art Deco lighting collection that was popular in the 1920s and 1930s. Designed and manufactured by French designer Petitot, they are characterized by their elegant, modern and often geometric designs.

The lamps are made from high-quality materials such as chrome, glass and brass and are known for their precise craftsmanship and striking appearance. Many of the lamps are made with hand-blown opal glass, which creates diffuse lighting and emits a soft, warm light.

Petitot lamps are now highly sought after by collectors and lovers of Art Deco design. Their unique combination of aesthetics and functionality makes them timeless works of art that also look wonderful in modern interiors.

The Petitot Lamp Manufactory was a French company that operated in the 1920s and 1930s during the Art Deco era and specialized in the production of luxury lamps and lights. The manufactory was founded by Félix-Alfred Petitot, who was already working as an art glazier in the late 19th century.

Under Petitot’s direction, the factory produced unique lamps and lights that were known for their exquisite craftsmanship and innovative design. Many of their products were made of brass or bronze and decorated with opal or marble glass. Some of Petitot’s most famous designs included ceiling and wall lamps, table and floor lamps, and chandeliers.

Petitot’s lamps and lights were appreciated by a wealthy clientele who were looking for something special and exclusive. Even today, Petitot’s pieces are still highly sought after by collectors and lovers of the Art Deco style.

The manufacture was affected by the outbreak of the Second World War and the associated economic challenges. After the end of the war it could no longer recover and closed its doors in the 1950s.

Among many other ceiling lights would be this 6-arm Art Deco ceiling light or another Petitot.
