An “Art Deco dresser” refers to a type of Art Deco style furniture piece made in France around 1925. The word “dresser” generally refers to a piece of furniture with drawers or cabinets for storing clothing or other items. Precious wood refers to the wood used to make the dresser. Precious wood is a type of wood with a deep, reddish-brown color and distinctive, wavy patterns that originates from South America. It was often used for high-end furniture and decorations in the Art Deco style.
Precious wood comes from the tropical forests of South America, particularly Brazil. It is known for its distinctive, wavy grains and deep reddish-brown color, often streaked with black veins.
Precious wood is often used for high-end furniture, musical instruments, and other decorative applications due to its beauty, hardness, strength, and durability. It also has a natural oil and resin structure that makes it resistant to moisture and pest infestation.
However, because precious wood has often been illegally logged due to its rarity and popularity, it has been protected by the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species since 1992. Trade in this wood is strictly regulated to ensure the survival of the species and to stop illegal logging.
