Art Deco cabinet

This elegant Art Deco cabinet, made in France around 1930, combines fine wood with black lacquer to create a harmonious work of art. The body is painted in deep black and finished with an elaborate hand-polished shellac finish.

The inside of the cabinet is mirrored and equipped with glass shelves, making it as functional as it is stylish. Particularly noteworthy is the geometric veneer pattern of the doors, which is designed in warm wood tones and forms an attractive contrast to the black lacquered base and sides. This carefully crafted piece is an exquisite example of the clean lines and luxurious aesthetics of Art Deco.

Precious wood in Art Deco Precious wood played a central role in the design of Art Deco, a style that developed in the 1920s and 1930s and was characterized by luxurious materials, geometric shapes and precision craftsmanship. In this era, wood served not only as a functional material, but also as an expression of elegance, sophistication and progress. Characteristic types of wood Art Deco designers preferred exotic and precious woods that offered exceptional grain and color intensity

Another great cabinet is this Art Deco display cabinet with three-sided glass.
