Art Deco Fashion Illustrations

Art Deco was a style of art popular in the 1920s and 1930s, a period that saw various fashions and trends. Art Deco fashion, however, was characterised by an emphasis on elegance, luxury and glamour. Clothing and accessories were often opulent and elaborately decorated, with an emphasis on geometric forms and clean lines.

For women, flowing, asymmetrical dresses and gowns were very popular and were often embellished with beads and sequins. Fringes and feathers were also frequently used to create movement and texture. Dresses were usually knee-length or slightly longer and emphasised the slender female silhouette.

For men, suits in muted colours such as grey, black or brown were popular, often worn with a waistcoat and tie. The suits frequently featured narrow trousers and short jackets that emphasised the masculine figure. The moustache was also a popular feature of men’s style at the time.

Overall, Art Deco fashion was characterised by an elegant and luxurious style that emphasised elaborate decoration and clean lines, while highlighting the slender female silhouette and the masculine figure.
