This signed table lamp by Hettier & Vincent embodies the Parisian Art Deco of the late 1920s in a particularly pronounced form. The stepped, vertically structured glass shade has an almost architectural character and stands in charming contrast to the slender female relief figure of the shaft. Geometric austerity and figurative elegance combine here to create the luxurious, yet modern design language that characterised French interiors after the Paris Exhibition of 1925. Light itself becomes a design element: the satin-finished glass softens the brightness, while the metallic mount emphasises the clear construction of the lamp.
