In 1919, Etling founded the company “La Compagnie des Arts Français,” which specialized in the production of art objects made of glass, ceramics, and metal. The company quickly became known for its innovative and elegant Art Deco designs and attracted a wealthy and art-loving clientele.

Etling worked closely with leading designers such as the renowned French sculptor and designer Chiparus to produce a wide range of Art Deco objects, including lamps, vases, sculptures, and other decorative items. Etling also employed a number of talented glass artists who mastered complex techniques such as etching, engraving, and grinding glass to realize its unique designs.

In the 1920s, Etling Studios had branches in Paris, London, and New York and exported its products around the world. The company worked closely with leading retailers such as Cartier and Tiffany and participated in important art and design exhibitions such as the 1925 Paris World’s Fair.

The Etling company remained in operation until the outbreak of World War II, but production was not resumed after the war. Today, Etling objects are highly sought after by collectors and can be sold for high prices at auctions.
