Elegant French Art Deco Figural Lamp by Fayral (Pierre Le Faguays)

This exceptional French Art Deco figural lamp was created by the renowned French sculptor Pierre Le Faguays (1892–1962), who signed many of his works under the pseudonym Fayral. Art Historical Background

The French sculptor Pierre Le Faguays is regarded as one of the important representatives of French Art Deco sculpture. For many of his decorative bronze sculptures, Le Faguays used the pseudonym Fayral. Numerous models were cast by the renowned Parisian foundry of Max Le Verrier. This collaboration resulted in some of the most recognizable examples of French Art Deco sculpture and remains closely associated with exceptional craftsmanship.

Figural lamps of this type were among the luxurious decorative furnishings of sophisticated private residences during the 1920s and 1930s. They combined sculpture, interior design and illumination in a way that perfectly expressed the glamour, modernity and elegance of the Art Deco period.
