Cherrywood chest of drawers

This elegant chest of drawers from the Rhineland, made around 1820, impresses with its simple and timeless aesthetic. The three-drawer body rests on tapered legs and is veneered with fine cherry wood, which has been applied to a softwood body. A special highlight is the beautiful, continuous veneer pattern, which impressively shows off the natural grain of the wood.

The ebonized key plates in a stylized diamond shape set subtle, contrasting accents and underline the elegant design language of the Biedermeier style. A classic piece of furniture that exudes timeless elegance with its harmonious design and high-quality workmanship.

Cherry wood – noble wood with a warm appearance.

Cherry wood is one of the finest and most sought-after woods in furniture making. It is characterized by its fine grain, a smooth surface and a warm, reddish-golden color, which develops a beautiful patina over time. Cherry wood is particularly valued for its ability to be polished, which gives it a silky shine. It is medium-heavy, yet robust and easy to work with, which is why it was preferred for high-quality furniture and cabinetmaking in past eras. Cherry wood was very popular in styles such as Biedermeier and Classicism because it combined elegance with simplicity. To this day, it is considered a synonym for timeless beauty and is used primarily for stylish furniture, veneers and fine interior design.

Another great variant is this Classical chest of drawers.
