“Mougin Nancy & Gaston Ventrillon”

The ceramic factory of Mougin Nancy was founded in 1852 by Pierre-Adolphe Mougin and was located in the French city of Nancy. Mougin specialized in the production of artistic ceramics in the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. The factory produced various types of ceramics, including vases, bowls, plates, and other decorative objects.

Gaston Ventrillon was a French ceramic artist who worked in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He worked for various ceramic factories, including Mougin Nancy. Ventrillon designed and crafted many pieces for the factory, contributing to its success.

In the Art Deco style, geometric shapes, abstract patterns, and vibrant colors were commonly used. The ceramic pieces by Mougin Nancy and Gaston Ventrillon are characterized by their elegant design and artistic decoration. Typical features of the Art Deco style can be observed in these ceramics, such as clean lines and the use of contrasting colors.

Today, the pieces by Mougin Nancy and Gaston Ventrillon are highly sought after by collectors due to their high quality and historical value.

Filled with fresh flowers, presented on a chest and over all this large majolica wall plate.
