This poster advertises a pastis from the Peureux distillery.

Founded in 1864 by Auguste Peureux in Fougerolles in the Haute-Saône department, the Peureux distillery switched to anise-flavored products in the early 1920s. In 1921, André Peureux’s sons created the Fap’Anis brand. For the name, they chose their initials.

The woman pictured is Gaby Deslys (1881–1920), a famous dancer and singer from Marseille. She is advertising an aperitif in a dress typical of the Roaring Twenties. Meanwhile, the landscape of the French Riviera (Mediterranean Sea) can be seen in the background.
