Biedermeier cherry wood buffet

This extraordinary Biedermeier buffet cabinet from Rheinhessen, made around 1815, is a rare original piece with impressive craftsmanship and a beautiful, natural patina. The elegant body is veneered with fine cherry wood and birch, while fine ebonization creates subtle contrasts. The top of the display cabinet impresses with its original, old glass, which gives the piece of furniture a special historical charm. Inlaid, partially fire-shaded birch pilasters decorate the front and underline the classic, harmonious design.

The original struts ensure a stable construction, while external brass fittings and fine brass diamonds stand out as elegant decorative elements. The base cabinet also takes up the artistic pilaster decorations and shows a consistent design harmony. Another highlight are the round medallions inlaid in birch on the doors – a characteristic detail of masterful Biedermeier carpentry. Two spacious drawers and a shelf behind the doors offer practical storage space. The original diamond-shaped brass fittings and the large, authentic box locks are further evidence of the carefully preserved original condition of this piece of furniture.

The beautiful patina that has developed over the years gives the sideboard a warm appearance and underlines its historical value. An extremely rare and authentic collector’s item that impressively embodies the simple elegance and masterful craftsmanship of the early 19th century.

Another special piece of furniture is this Biedermeier pillar cabinet.
