Large Art Deco table lamp

Geometric shapes: Art Deco is characterized by the use of geometric shapes such as triangles, circles, rectangles and trapezoids. This large table lamp combines these shapes in its round base, tapered stem and semi-circular lampshade.

Chrome and metal: Metallic finishes, especially chrome, were popular in the Art Deco style. This table lamp still has its old chrome finish which gives it a wonderful charm.

Symmetry: Symmetry played an important role in Art Deco. This table lamp features a symmetrical arrangement and possessed no balanced and aesthetically pleasing design.

Ornamentation: Art Deco is often characterized by ornate details, be it engravings, relief work or inlaid materials. However, these decorations are deliberately excluded from this table lamp because the character of the lamp should be sober and unadorned.

Stylized motifs: Art Deco was known for stylized representations of animals, plants and other motifs. These motifs are also not found here – here the emphasis is placed on a complete abandonment of ornamentation.

Clear lines: Clear and sharp lines were another characteristic feature of Art Deco.as found in this lamp in the clean lines in its shape and structure.

This large Art Deco table lamp placed well on this Makassar console.
