Attributed to the French ebenist Jules Leleu.

Desk in semicircular shape. Freely placable. With 4 drawers each on the right and left, the top one lockable. Rosewood veneered on oak body on profiled base in rosewood. Writing surface with beige leather.

Jules Leleu (1883-1961) was a French furniture designer. He came from a family of artisans. In Paris he ran a gallery for painting and decoration, called “Maison Leleu”. Among other things, he designed rooms of the cruise ships “Ile de France” and “Normandie”.

The Art Déco desk is from France around 1930 and is attributed to the cabinetmaker Jules Leleu. It has a semi-circular shape and can be placed freely in a room. This Museal writing desk has 4 drawers on each side, with the top drawer lockable. The body is made of oak and veneered with rosewood. The base is profiled and also made of rosewood.
