A framed black-and-white photograph shows the view across the Main River to the Frankfurt skyline at dusk. In the foreground, a Main Bridge with rhythmic arches spans the calm-looking water; the lights along the shore stretch out as bright lines on both sides of the river. Behind them, the towers of the banking district rise into the dramatically cloudy evening sky. The long exposure time smooths the water’s surface and emphasises the contrasts between the bright lights on the banks and the dark shapes of the buildings. The photograph is presented with a wide white passe-partout in a narrow black frame (glass with slight reflections).
